Greetings fellows!

My name is Bradley Henderson, and I am very excited to have found this clan society here in the States. I have just recently begun to be more interested in my Scottish ancestry as well as all of the wonderful culture and history that accompany it. I am currently getting my genealogy in order to more concretely show my link to the clan, and I was wondering what genealogical tools are best or frequently used by those perhaps more experienced than I. Also the legality of displaying the crest is somewhat confusing. How is it possible for clan members to display it when it belongs to the chief? Is it when it is surrounded by the belt that signifies it is a member?

Every so often we see a "new" Henderson discussing the "castle" at Fordell. A long tale to tell, and maybe I should start retelling it in An Canach again. Suffice it to say, it is not a Henderson property and is not open to visitors.

I just found this site via ancestry.com posting. Finally A home!
In reference to where have all the Henderson's gone. I can believe the low profile in Canada, I can only find my Grandfather's information in Ontario, at the turn of the 20th century. but nothing before that.
There might be hope for me after all :) will start the work on the Gedcom file :) and send in, hopefully that will give me some direction.

I am Tyler Henderson from Cleveland, Tennessee. I have done a great deal of research on the Henderson surname after getting into college at 15 years of age. I wanted to learn more of my ancestory to try and find out why I am 6'4" and 265 lbs. at a mere 17 years old. Most of the Henderson grouping in Tennessee live in Cleveland or in Severville, Tennessee. The Henderson family was one of the first 5 families to settle in Severville, TN and almost every street, graveyard, and church has our family name on it. Our side is dying out though. Off of our branch, we forked again. There are 3 or 4 sides of Hendersons in the Southeastern United States.

Hey all,

I am trying to reconnect with my roots and am just a bit confused about my Scottish heritage. My mother's last name was Henderson but she always told me that it was a sub clan of Clan MacNeil. When I look at Clan MacNeil I find no such name listed. So i am wondering if I am confusing two seperate clans.

I am sorry to sound so clueless here but that's what i am. Any help you can offer would be welcome.
